Chocolate is proven to increase endurance, a recent medical study suggests.
In the study, mice were given Epicatechin, a flavonol, “which is a class of molecules that are thought to have widespread effects on the body.” The mice who received this flavonol “covered about 50 percent more distance than the control animals.” Apparently, Epicatechin, which is found in dark chocolate had increased their overall endurance and improved blood circulation.
As stated in more scientific terms in the article: “The leg muscles of the mice that had been given epicatechin and exercised displayed far more mitochondrial activity than the leg muscles of the control mice.” READ FULL NYT ARTICLE
